Friday Night Chapel

  1. What a far cry this is from Friday vespers in the Holy Church! Can we just never escape from the audio-visual presentation? It seems not. If the screen is up there so that bible verses and the words of hymns can be projected, and people follow along, I can understand that. It saves wasting paper. But the Word of God is available in book form, and those who attend the service are thought to be Christians. Therefore they should have bibles of their own. What else do we need a projector for? Singing the words of a hymn? Well, there are other ways to do this too. I am afraid that bringing the technology world into the place of worship is unintentionally irreverent, and it has the effect of making it difficult or even impossible to "lay aside all earthly cares, so that we may receive the King of all."

Yudhie, my son, this is what we have to demonstrate, when the time comes. For as the Word of God says, "the islands are waiting for His Law" (Isaiah 42:4). The Lord is to be worshiped in reverence and awe. When we worship ourselves in place of Him, the results are obvious.

God bless you, Son. I will see you soon.
