Since it doesn't look like you can hang your ikons on the wall, it would be better not to try to display them on the desk, because they look crowded among the other items on the desk. Besides that, others, who do not understand what ikons are, might look upon them disrespectfully.
I have written you a long email with some suggestions, but now that I see this photo, I understand the situation a bit better. I think you should keep most of your holy things out of sight until a better place can be found for them, and keep maybe only one ikon and your psalmbook on the desk. Keep the rest hidden away honorably except when you use them. That way, people will understand better that their significance is more than meets the eye.
